Cornhole Tournament
Sign up EARLY for St. Francis de Sales’ 3rd Annual Oktoberfest Cornhole Tournament. Who will knock out last year’s winning team?
ONLY 16 teams allowed. $25 per team entry fee.
Team slots are sold on a first come, first reserved basis. Sign up in advance after selected masses in September.
1/2 of the money collected will benefit the parish; 1/2 will be awarded to the first-place team.
Please select a slot for your two-person team. Include a Team Name in the comments section. We will seed the brackets from top to bottom: Team 1 will play Team 2, etc. on down to Team 16.
- Boards are placed 24 feet from front edge to front edge.
- Games are played to 21 points.
- Each team is comprised of two (2) players • Each team will stay in their designated lane for the whole game • Players at one board will alternate pitching bags (two bags consecutively) until each player has pitched all (4) of his bags • Players at the other board will take score and resume pitching back to the other cornhole board
- Woody: Refers to any cornhole bag that has been pitched and remains on the cornhole board playing surface at the conclusion of the frame. Each Woody is 1 point.
- Cornhole: Refers to any cornhole bag that has been pitched and passes through the cornhole board hole at any time within the frame. Each Cornhole is 3 points.
- Cancellation scoring is NOT used in this tournament. The first team to score 21 points – or more than 21 points – wins.
- Players must deliver the bag with an underhand release.
- Feet must stay behind the line at the front of the board at the time of releasing the bag.
- Bags that touch the board and the ground at the same time do NOT score a point. Bags must be off the ground and on the board to count.
- In the event of a disagreement on rules or scoring, the assigned referee will make the final decision.
This is a single elimination tournament. All rounds of play are decided on the best 2 out of 3 games.
There will be two (2) pairs of cornhole boards set up. Recreational play from 3pm to 5pm. Team Only Practice 5pm to 5:30pm. The tournament will begin at 5:30pm.
Also, all both sets of cornhole boards will be sold in a Silent Auction format. Bids can be placed during the tournament up until 7:30 pm. All proceeds from sale of cornhole boards will benefit St. Francis de Sales.
