Youth Ministry

“Come and See!” (John 1)

Who We Are

ALL middle schoolers (grades 6-8) and high schoolers (grades 9-12) are welcome to be part of Youth Ministry, whether they attend public, private, or homeschool, regardless of faith or where they are in their faith journey.

Our Mission

SFDS Youth Ministry is a celebration of the Catholic Faith, a place of spiritual, emotional, and social support, and a launching pad for lives committed to Christ.

Our middle school and high school programs create opportunities for our youth to encounter Christ and invite our youth to participate in the life of the Church. By growing in Spirit among a community of caring mentors and friends, our youth will be inspired to walk with our Lord, follow the path that was paved for them, and desire to be intentional, life-long disciples of Jesus.

Relationships are the Key to Discipleship.

“One of the clearest indicators of whether a young person will remain in the faith as an adult is how many adults in the community he knew by name as a teen” (author, Dr. Christian Smith). SFDS Youth Ministry lays a foundation for teens that encourages meaningful relationships with adult mentors and fosters belonging among peers. In using Jesus’ model of discipleship, our adult volunteers go out, invite, and accompany our youth as they grow with Christ and one another.

What We Do

Our activities promote academic, social, and spiritual growth.  Participation leads to a greater knowledge of and love for Christ, new and fruitful friendships, and service to others in our parish and community.
