SoulStitch
Soul Stitch Ministry’s mission is to strengthen the Parish community life by providing materials, hand crafting guidance, friendship, prayer and a place to gather as we knit, crochet, weave and embroider items for charitable projects.
We embroider baptismal bibs for infants baptized at Saint Francis de Sales. We complete prayer shawls to distribute to parishioners identified by parish staff to provide warmth and spiritual comfort.
Over the years projects have included: crocheted and knit prayer shawls for Workcamp, knitted hats for Mobile Hope, baby layettes for Birthright, scarves for The Special Olympic athletes, hats for premature babies for a hospital in Haiti, mittens, hats, blankets and vests for Afghans For Afghans, vests for Native American children on reservations, and comfort items for veterans at Boulder Crest Retreat.
Interested people who knit, crochet, weave or embroider, or would like to learn, please contact Karen Gaylord. If your vocation calls you to give of your time, vocation or treasure, please join us whether or not you are able to attend our gatherings. We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Parish Hall.
We have been generously blessed to receive donations of yarn, needles, cloth and completed items, however, we always welcome more as we continue our ministry.
