Saint Peter Study

January 31, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am EST

Friday mornings from 9-10:30 beginning on Friday, January 24, 2025.
We will approach coming to know Saint Peter through a Lectio Divina study. It is designed to enlighten our minds and enkindle our hearts through weekly reading and reflection and response to scripture, 2000 years of tradition and group discussion. Here are just some of the highlights of this study:
Our story of St. Peter begins with an ordinary act of trust, which changes the course of Peter’s life. By deciding to follow Jesus Christ, an unknown fisherman becomes a key player in God’s plan of salvation for humanity. Video footage will be viewed to get a closer look at the town of Capernaum and Galilee, where Peter worked and lived. We’ll discover the significance of that geographical area to Jesus’ teaching and works. An examination of Peter’s experiences will be made of what it truly means to follow Christ and to seek forgiveness. We will learn and spiritually grow from the way Peter and the Apostles are challenged to face the conflict between faith and fear and are taught to walk in Trust. We will bring to light the joyful cost of discipleship and, as we uncover his experiences in Rome, be in awe of this Saints Way of the Cross.
