“No believer in Christ, no institution of the Church can avoid this supreme duty: to proclaim Christ to all peoples.” – Pope St. John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio, 12/7/1990
Evangelization is central to the Gospel! Our Lord made this clear when He told His Apostles to “go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them all I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19). Communicating Jesus’ Good News, however, is an obligation for not only the ordained but also the laity – young and old, men and women, regardless of their vocations.
Saint Francis de Sales Church strives to share the Gospel by word and deed, both in the broader community and within the Catholic Family. In particular, we seek to provide opportunities for our parishioners to go deeper into the many riches of the Catholic Faith in order that they might be more devoted to, knowledgeable of, and confident in their own faith and thus better equipped to evangelize those with whom they interact on a daily basis — whether a non-Christian friend at work or a fellow Catholic, including those who have fallen away from the Church.
