Homeless Ministry

Join us in helping our homeless brothers and sisters in the DC Metro Area! The Homeless Ministry is open to everyone in the parish. Our ministry will concentrate on collecting comfort items, preparing and serving food, and working directly with the homeless. There are ways to serve for all ages!

Many thanks to all who donated baked goods, casseroles and other important food items for last Saturday’s meal at Sister’s of Charity Soup Kitchen in Anacostia. We could not feed the homeless population without your generosity. We had wonderful kitchen helpers and servers as well, such a pleasure to meet and work with new volunteers. For a few hours of our time, we are rewarded by the gratitude of the less fortunate for a healthy, hot meal. Once again, thanks to the ladies of Soul Stitch, we were able to share their beautifully knitted hats and gloves with the patrons of the Soup Kitchen. To see them waving goodbye wearing your hats was heartwarming! Please join us, as a very cold winter is here, the need is greater. Our next Soup Kitchen day is Saturday, February 9, from 8:30 until 11:30am.
