Homeless Ministry

Join us in helping our homeless brothers and sisters in the DC Metro Area! The Homeless Ministry is open to everyone in the parish. Our ministry will concentrate on collecting comfort items, preparing and serving food, and working directly with the homeless. There are ways to serve for all ages!

We are grateful for the huge outpouring of interest to join the Homeless Ministry last weekend. Our group is so passionate we wanted to share our works with everyone, and clearly many of you responded. So many new volunteers, of all ages, we welcome all of you to our Gardening Angels, Soup Kitchen, Blessing Bags projects. There are many ways to do a small part that makes a really big difference. Maybe you want to serve at the Soup Kitchen, but Anacostia is unfamiliar to you, we carpool! Just let us know you want a ride, we can meet you in the parking lot the morning of (it’s only once a month). Maybe you want to just send us salad dressings, or coffee, if you like to cook for others you could make a (prebaked) meat/pasta casserole. If you want to bake at your home with your children, we ask for rolls, muffins, cookies and brownies.  Our next Soup day will be Saturday April 13. Click here for the Sign Up Genius
